Glenn S. Covert

Lodi – Glenn Stewart Covert, age 72, of Lodi, WI, (previously of Green Bay), passed away at home on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 with family by his side. Glenn was born May 13, 1950 in Rockville Centre, NY, the son of Clarence Byron and Evelyn Catherine (Snyder) Covert.

Glenn and his family moved to Milwaukee, WI where he graduated from Custer High School in 1968. After High School, Glenn began his career in printing at Cuneo Press in Milwaukee, after which he continued at various printing companies such as: Independent Printing, Seaway Printing and Van Lanen Printing in Green Bay, WI.

Glenn was a basic man; happy to lead a simple life. He loved his flannel shirts and jeans; old, worn-out tennis shoes were preferred over new; corn dogs and pizza were favored over a gourmet meal. He did, however, dream often of winning the lottery or a mega jackpot at the casino! He loved Vegas with a passion and he and his wife Mary shared many exciting trips there. Even as his health declined from the special illness of Lewy Body Dementia, he still dreamed of one more trip to Vegas! Glenn simply loved to travel! California, Hawaii, Florida, New Orleans and many Wisconsin road trips.

Glenn loved the Packers especially Packer parties with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching the Bucks with “the guys”.

Glenn’s one pure pleasure in life was focusing on keeping his blended family close together. This included camping trips and barbecues, birthdays, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. He also loved attending school band concerts and sporting events for the. He was devoted to Mary’s Sisters and Brother-in-laws and enjoyed many camping trips, pool parties and gatherings with them.

Thousands of photos have been taken over the years and thousands of memories will be treasured by his family. As his daughter Wendy said: “He was the glue that held us together!”

Glenn is survived by his wife Mary Katherine Covert of 28 years; his brother, Gary Covert (Ivy) and his sister, Carol Wolfmeyer. He also leaves leaves 7 children, 12 benefits and 2 great behind 7 children. Children: Kenneth Covert (Lisa), Wendy Graczyk (Rich), Brennan Covert (Autumn), Brian Shelly (Beth), Laura Retzer (Darin), Barbara Prieve (Noa), Stephanie Shelly. Grandchildren: Alyssa Moon, Devon Moon, Kameron Graczyk, Kiera Heimbecher, Jillian Covert, Stormie Bass, Alex Shelly, Anna Shelly, Andrew Shelly, Abigail Hollaway, Amber Prieve, Molly Prieve

Great Grandchildren: David Wilkie, Harper Demerath-Moon

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Byron and Evelyn Covert; two brothers, Bob and Clifford Covert and three brother-in-laws, Lawrence Koeppen, Warren Aarons and James Trinkner.

A celebration of Glenn’s life and prayer service will be held on Saturday, July 9th 2022, 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Fort Howard Memorial Park Chapel. 1350 N Military Ave, Green Bay, WI 54303

The Covert family would like to thank the staff of Madison Agrace Hospice for their kind, gentle and loving care that was given to Glenn and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center.
