The Mexican city of Los Cabos is bracing itself for a record year in terms of passenger arrivals into the city, with recent arrival figures higher than those registered in 2019 before the pandemic struck. The news is the latest of several Mexico travel success stories published over the past year, with the destination going from strength to strength after becoming one of the first around the world to end its pandemic related entry restrictions.

The definition of a beach resort paradise, those fortunate enough to have visited Los Cabos recently will know exactly why it is breaking all of its previous travel records and cementing itself as one of the world’s top destinations. Here’s a look at how exactly the destination is breaking new grounds with regards to travel figures – and why travelers have been flocking to the location in such high volumes.

Los Cabos’ Record Travel Figures – Information For Travelers

Located at the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula, Los Cabos has proved an enduring destination for beach lovers, thrill seekers and all kinds of travelers in between for several years now, and has welcomed a string of luxury resorts, restaurants and attractions to its shores. Yet as some destinations struggle to recover in the wake of the pandemic, Los Cabos has bucked the trend.

In 2019, prior to the pandemic, Los Cabos was only welcoming around 400 flights per week. Fast forward to 2022 however, and the red-hot destination is now welcoming around 520 flights per week, a large increase that brings a significant number of tourists to the resort city every day. to the general director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust, Rodrigo Esponda, such figures will make for the busiest year in history for the city.

As well as welcoming record numbers of arrival via air passage, Los Cabos will also welcome a sizable number of cruise arrivals to the city. It was recently revealed that more than 700 cruise ships are expected to visit Los Cabos before the end of 2023, which could bring an additional 1.5 million travelers to the city – news that is bound to be welcomed by locals and business owners in the region.

According to a poll of visitors to the city, 93% stated that they had a pleasant vacation – and it’s easy to see why. Los Cabos was named as having the cleanest beaches in Mexico, famed for their sweeping, sandy bays, crystal clear snorkeling and diving spots – and a distinct lack of sargassum compared to other destinations in the country. For those who want to swap the beaches for a bunker, the region was also awarded as having the best golf course in the country in the form of Cabo Del Sol.

As well as boasting a perfect climate, stunning natural features and remarkable biodiversity, Los Cabos is also a top destination for travelers in search of world-class nightlife and beach clubs, top gastronomic experiences and fantastic shopping malls for those wishing to indulge in a spot of retail therapy – giving travelers the best of both the natural and modern world.
